Will Ferrell has signed on to provide the voice of the Man in the Yellow Hat for the animated feature film production of the children's classic "Curious George."

"Curious George," from Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment, will be an all-new adventure based upon the title character, an inquisitive monkey transplanted from the jungle to the big city by the Man in the Yellow Hat. The movie has staked out a Nov. 4, 2005, release date.

Ferrell's credits include a seven-season stint on "Saturday Night Live," where he earned two Emmy nominations for both performance and writing, as well as turns in "Old School" and "Zoolander." He next appears in "Elf," "Starsky and Hutch" and "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy," which he co-wrote.
