Trump Wants to Trademark 'You're Fired'Submitted by: kirkland on Friday March 19th, 2004 at 02:02 PM EST
"Every time you walk down the street people are screaming, 'You're fired!'" Trump told The Post yesterday. "It's in case I ever decide to do something with it. But nothing's imminent." Trump lawyers filed papers to trademark the phrase with the U.S. Patent and Trademark office the week the show debuted last January. According to the papers, posted on the Web site The Smoking Gun, Trump could use the phrase "You're fired" on "clothing, games and playthings." He could also use it in connection with "casino services," according to the papers. [Reply] You're fired™ [Reply] Somewhere, Vince McMahon is crying. [Reply] From WrestlingExposed.com:
According to CNN, Donald Trump, a close friend of Vince McMahon’s, is looking to copyright the phrase “You’re Fired” to place on T-shirts and memorabilia from his hit reality show The Apprentice. The U.S. Patent office has a filing of three other parties looking to copyright the name as well. No word on whether WWE is one of those three parties. As you know “you’re fired” one of Vince McMahon’s most favorite phrases. [Reply] So what you are saying... is that McMahon and Trump are friends... and sicne McMahon has said "You're Fired" on TV it's a big deal? I don't think so... who really cares? I mean what's the point of posting that here?
[Reply] They said Vince McMahon could be one of those 3 other parties who are attempting to copyright it.
[Reply] No it said they don't even know if the WWE is attempting to get it copyrigthed... that's just a reporter trying to make up some news... for some hits... for money haha.
[Reply] You never know, he could be right. <_<
